Belligerent is one of the battle robots that take part in Hamegg's Robot Games. He exclusively appears as a minor antagonist in the 2009 Astro Boy film. He merges with Outrageous to form The Little Stinker.
Origin[]
Belligerent was personally built by Hamegg to fight in his arena. Hamegg's adoptive children, led by Cora, would harvest robot pieces from the junkyard surface below Metro City and bring them back to Hamegg's workshop. Many of the robots built for the battles are meant to be disposable, hence Belligerent's unrefined appearance.
Belligerent is an English word meaning "hostile and aggressive". This is a reference to his willingness to battle, even when Astro refuses to fight him.
Appearance[]
As a recycled robot, Belligerent has a patchwork appearance; he is mostly comprised of gray, green, pink, and purple chunks of metal. His arms are cannons with four barrels in place of fingers. Belligerent has one blue-green eye in the centre of his body.
