Go Astro Boy Go! is a 2019 educational animated series produced by Planet Nemo Animation. The series is aimed at preschoolers, and features an entirely rebooted canon. Go Astro Boy Go! is the first Astro Boy television series to be produced outside of Tezuka Productions.

Plot[]

"The eco-systems of planet Earth are endangered. Lucky for us, a super-powered robot boy is flying to rescue! Astro in on a mission to help anyone anywhere in the world with a problem involving natural phenomena. Go little Astro Boy ! GO !"[1]

Team Astro - made of Astro, Suzu Ochanomizu, and Astro Kitty - travels the world to stop disasters and crimes. They are assisted by Suzu's grandfather, Dr. Ochanomizu, and his two assistants Dr. Serene and Dr. Blunt. Along the way, Team Astro learn about science, the environment, nature, and more.

Unlike previous Astro Boy iterations, there is minimal peril and serious danger, and all episodes are highly comical in nature. Episodes are in 11-minute format and air in pairs on broadcast television.

Production[]

Go Astro Boy Go! was animated by Planet Nemo Animation and produced by Ankama and Tezuka Productions. Early in production, the series was planned as a reboot of 2014 anime series Little Astro Boy. In 2018, it was retitled as Go Astro Boy Go! and became set in an original universe.[2] While Go Astro Boy Go! takes many liberties with the Astro Boy characters, it still pays homage to the works of Osamu Tezuka. Illustrations and animated sequences from Tezuka's anime works, such as Jungle Emperor and Princess Knight, often appear as background details.
