Klaus is an ultra-realistic humanoid robot who works for the Metro City Police Department. He is a spy robot who develops a love of human culture and arts, so much so that he decides to go AWOL from the line of duty. Klaus exclusively appears in the Astro Boy (2003) episode "Undercover".

Personality[]

Klaus is a sensitive, soft-spoken robot spy. He has gone through extensive training on how to act and speak like a human being. During his time at training, he developed a love of music, particularly that of opera singer Mila Ozel. After deciding that he loved music and Ozel, he chose to run away from his latest assignment, taking the opportunity to see her live in concert, before his system shuts down from a preinstalled computer virus.

He is very amiable and can quickly befriend both humans and robots. Klaus was on good terms with his trainer at the spy robot academy, and was one of the few people to be able to communicate with his trainer's adopted daughter Michelle.

Appearance[]

Klaus is designed to be as human-like as possible, with his physical appearance being so realistic that most people who look at him immediately assume he's a human being. He resembles a fair-skinned human man in his late 20s to early 30s, with blue eyes, and brown hair with fringed bangs. He usually dresses in suits or long-sleeved layered shirts.

  • Advanced Kokoro - Thanks to Kokoro programming, Klaus is able to perfectly emulate a human being from mannerisms to speech tics. He develops a love of music, which is highly unusual for robots, as most aren't able to understand musical composition
  • Arm cannon - Klaus's right hand can transform into a compact laser cannon. He uses this ability very rarely and only as a last-ditch effort
  • Rapid data retention - Klaus is able to read hundreds of pages a minute and absorb the text within. He can also wirelessly absorb computer files, such as audio files and documents, when he puts his left hand's fingers near a device.
  • Rewriteable memory - Klaus is a spy robot, and has a CPU that can be reformatted every time he finishes a mission. His first assignment is to live with the programming and personality of "Mr. Greene", a young businessman
