Sahad

Sahad is a character from the manga Pluto, and the original identity of the robot of the same name.

Story[]

Sahad is a humanoid robot botanist made by Dr. Abra, built to study and transform the vast and arid deserts of Persia into habitable forests. However, after The 39th Central Asian Conflict decimated Persia, Dr. Abra came back with different intentions for Sahad; to turn him into a tool for revenge. Dr. Abra, in truth, a robotic duplicate named Goji activated after the actual Abra's death, transfers Sahad's AI into the body of an enormous, murderous war machine called Pluto. Sahad is emotionally blackmailed into murdering the 7 most powerful robots on the planet: Montblanc, North MK II, Gesicht, Brando, Hercules, Epsilon and Atom, for revenge after the death of his family and the destruction of his country.

Despite following through on his creator's orders, Sahad is horrified and deeply traumatized by his actions as Pluto. Sahad is shown multiple times to defy Dr. Abra's programming and try to return to his original life. Despite meeting with Atom's sister, the empathetic Uran, Sahad cannot fight the destiny Goji has set him on, forcing him to return to Pluto's body. With each failed attempt and the growing number of murders, Sahad grows more and more desperate, eventually leading him to beg others to kill him before he can take another life. After the murders of all 7 robots and the subsequent revival of Atom, his original personality manages to finally suppress Pluto's programming, leading him to sacrifice his life to save the planet and humanity from Goji's plan to use Bora to cause a nuclear winter.
